Burkett Family Cousins

We hope all of you are finding the year 2015 fruitful and prosperous! 

We have now identified over 15,600 descendants and spouses, about  600 more than reported in December, just over four months ago.

No New Features Added

While no new features have been added since our last message in December, the site continues to evolve.  Efforts have been spent on updated existing features, particularly the Find A Grave Index and the Historical Records pages.  Clicking on the links below will take you to these pages on the web site. 

 + Find A Grave Index

This page is an index to Find A Grave memorials for nearly 2,200 Burkett Family members.  This is several hundred more than were in this index in December.  The Find A Grave memorials contain a wealth of information.  This page is definitely recommended for all who visit the site. While some memorials contain only limited information, others contain photos of the grave stones and/or the individuals, obituaries and links to other family members.  

 + Historic Records

Copies of original records such as birth, death, marriage and other records can be found here.  Information about the fourth generation individuals has now been added to the site.  Information on the fifth generation individuals is in progress and will be added at some point in the future.  If any of you have copies of any such documents that we don't have, we would gladly add them to the site if you would send them to us.

Other updates

Nearly every other page on the web site continues to  be updated with some new information.  You will need to check out these pages to see what the additions have been.  The Links index shows the latest dates each section has been modified or revised.  You are also highly encouraged to visit the Family News page regularly as it is modified often and may contain information of particular interest.  

We can always use your help.  Your eyes and ears can help us keep our site up to date.  It can be somewhat discouraging to find on the internet, obituaries of family members who have died in the neighborhood of family members who receive these updates and are familiar with the Burkett Family Web Site.  Please, if you are aware of any significant event regarding other family members, let us know.

Family Reunions:  

We have two Family Reunions scheduled for this summer; the Burkett Family Reunion in Alabama in June and the Murray Family Reunion in Texas in July.
