Virginia Ruth Jones, 81

McMinnville resident and Muncie, Ind., native Virginia Ruth Jones, 81, died Oct. 16 at her home.

A restaurant and grocery store owner and a member of Northside Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Charles Lewis and Johnann Patterson Watson; and was preceded in death by her husband, Chester E. Jones; daughter, Shirley Ann Pitts and son, Terry Jones.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Billy L. and Gloria Jones, Joe Donald and Jollyn Jones, all of McMinnville; sisters, Mary DeBerry and Thelma Robinson, both of McMinnville; son-in-law, Paul W. Pitts of Cleveland; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Jenkins officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory.  Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service today at McMinnville Funeral Home.

McMinnville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
