MOORE

Dixie L., 62, of Newcastle, passed away Wednesday at South Community Hospital after an extended illness.  Services will be 2pm Friday in the Colonial Chapel of Vondel L. Smith & Sons Mortuary.  Born in Bridgecreek OK, Dec. 19, 1922, she had been a homemaker for most of her life.  She formerly had worked for Armour Packing Co.  She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 13 and had served on the Executive Committee to the Auxiliary.  She attended Crossroads Cathedral.  Survivors include her husband, John ""J.D.'' of the home; 2 sons, John D. Jr. of Muskogee and Derek C. of the home; 4 daughters, Tonieta Ferguson of Tulsa, Carolyn Woodard, Rita Turner, and Pamela Wells, all of OKC; 2 brothers, James Cox of OKC and Ray Cox of San Antonio TX; 4 sisters, Floy Hunter, Flora Carter, Nan Jackson, and Nell Bridges, all of OKC; 18 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.
