Clara Burkett

LA RUSSELL , Mo. — Clara Minnie Burkett. 84, La Russell, died at 5:60 a.m. Monday at McCune Brooks Hospital in Carthage, where she had been a patient since Friday,

Mrs. Burkett was born July 26, 1895, near Stotts City.  On Jan. 3, 1918, she married Horace Burkett in Bowers Mill, near La Russell.  He died May 18, 1980.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of La Russell and the Veterans of World War I Auxiliary, Barracks No. 1067.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Erma Whitehead, La Russell, Mrs. Annalee Teeters, Cape Girardeau, and Mrs. Betty Millett, Enterprise, Kan.; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Housh Funeral Home of Sarcoxie.

The Rev. Bill Springer will officiate, and burial will be in Harvey Cemetery north of Sarcoxie.

The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral
